Goals
To support and increase office productivity through the use of technology
To ensure that information systems are available wherever and whenever needed, and that they are secured and standard compliant.
To ensure integrity of information, office records and users credentials
To support and facilitate office staff in the use of information technology devices/equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, etc.
To meet current and emerging Technology needs.
Objectives
To enhance the productivity of FDA employees through the use of emerging technology for the purpose of achieving FDA’s corporate goals.
Major Activities
1. Effective communication amongst staff in office, field office and headquarters is essential to the coordination of tasks and execution of project. For the ICT department, we ensure the full implementation of the following services:
Unique Identifier- email address to all employees to enable them gain access to various FDA restricted documents within the shared folder in the FDA’s domain. The ICT unit issues, modifies and deletes email accounts as required and also ensures the mail system is always available and that users’ information is secured.
Internet Access -most communication including email uses internet and as such it is the unit’s goal to ensure that there is a very high level of connectivity to the internet for pastel transactions for use by finance Department. Internet service is also required for the overall use of FDA.
Telephone- the unit ensures that voice connectivity is available to essential staff. Staff can easily get call from implementers, partners, Government agencies through the use of telephone..
Video/Telephone-Conferencing – the unit ensures that video conferences are made for the purpose of external conferences, interviews, etc
