A local Non for profit Organization, the Gabriel Weah Movement for Peace Advocacy and Development on Saturday honored Forestry Development Authority (FDA) Deputy Managing Director for Administration and Finance, Benjamin Tennessee Plewon, III for what it calls his exceptional leadership and service to humanity.
According to the group, Mr. Plewon deserves the honor giving his numerous contributions to the needy in society and the selfless spirit being demonstrated in implementing the government’s pro-poor agenda.
The group said it was honored to publicly acknowledge the efforts being made by the FDA Deputy Managing Director in the society, noting it is better to give him a deserving honor and flower for the sake of history.
It can be recalled that Mr. Plewon recently provided hundreds of light reflectors jackets to motor cyclists in the Barnard Farm community aimed at safeguarding possible traffic accidents.
In remarks while accepting the honor, Mr. Plewon expressed gratitude to the Gabriel Weah Peace Advocacy Foundation for the honor which he said will elevate his enthusiasm to do more for the needed. He then reaffirmed his commitment to promoting young and determined people in the society.
He also admonished his fellow Liberians to focus on devising means to ensure that the peace and unity being enjoyed as a people and nation continue to exist.
He noted that the defined person is the one who is never forgetful about his or her roots, something he said is the core value of nationalism. He promised to always help young and determined people in society saying, “The growth and development of our country depend on open-mindedness and a sense of patriotism.
